[Oshi no Ko] Final Season: Season 3 Was Not the End

The short answer

No, Season 3 was not the final season. There is a fourth season, and the fourth season is the one being called the Final Season. Its Japanese title is 【推しの子】第4期 Final Season, where 第4期 means fourth season, so the official name says both things at once. That is almost certainly why so many people finished Season 3 in March and came away thinking they had just watched the ending.

There is no release date. The season was announced with a teaser visual and a teaser trailer on 16 August 2026 and nothing since has given a premiere date, an episode count or a broadcast season. Anyone quoting one is guessing.

What actually happened with Season 3

Season 3 ran 14 January 2026 to 25 March 2026, 11 episodes, animated by Doga Kobo. It is finished and it is not the end of the story. On AniList its own entry lists the Final Season as its sequel, which is the simplest place to see that another season exists.

The three seasons so far

Season Aired Episodes Studio AniList score
Season 1 12 April 2023 to 28 June 2023 11 Doga Kobo 84%
Season 2 3 July 2024 to 6 October 2024 13 Doga Kobo 85%
Season 3 14 January 2026 to 25 March 2026 11 Doga Kobo 86%
Final Season Not announced Not announced Doga Kobo Not rated, it has not aired

The score has gone up every season, 84% to 85% to 86%, which is not what usually happens to a long running adaptation. Doga Kobo has animated all three and is animating the fourth.

The returning cast is the headline here. Every one of the six leads is the same voice as the previous seasons, so nothing has been recast going into the finale.

Story

The official outline for the Final Season says filming has begun on the in universe film 15-Year Lie, that Aqua’s attempt to expose what happened around Ai’s death and to condemn Kamiki Hikaru accelerates, and that Ruby, cast as Ai, spends the shoot asking who her mother actually was. The site’s tagline for the season translates as “guided by the stars, to the final stage”. If you have read the manga you will know how much of it that covers, and this page is not going to spoil it.

What has not been announced

Worth stating plainly, because most pages on this subject fill these gaps with estimates.

  • No premiere date. Not a month, not a season, not a year.
  • No episode count. The previous three ran 11, 13 and 11, so a similar length is a reasonable expectation and nothing more than that.
  • No streaming platform. Earlier seasons have gone out on Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, Netflix and other services depending on where you are, but no service has announced the Final Season yet, and the only links on the official season page are the site itself, the X account and the YouTube channel.
  • No opening or ending theme.

When any of that changes this page gets updated and the change gets dated, rather than quietly swapped in.

From the official news feed, newest first.

  • 2 November 2026. A tourism collaboration launched in Kyoto, a digital map stamp rally called Kyoto Smart Navi, running to 14 December 2026. You play a new manager at Ichigo Production and work through riddles, quizzes and photo missions around Uzumasa, Katsura and Matsuo, Shugakuin, and the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Shimogamo areas. Uzumasa is where Kyoto’s film studios are, which is a neat place to send a show about the entertainment industry. It is free to enter and needs no app, and it is run by a local tourism congestion council together with Kyoto City, so it is a city project rather than a merchandise push.
  • 31 October 2026. A 2026 Halloween visual, with a giveaway campaign alongside it.
  • 16 September 2026. The official X account passed one million followers.
  • 16 August 2026. The Final Season teaser visual and teaser trailer. This is the announcement itself and it remains the most substantial thing to have happened.

Two and a half months of Halloween art, giveaways and a tourism tie in, and no date. That is not a bad sign on its own, it is what a production in the middle of work looks like, but it does mean there is nothing to count down to yet.
