Gachiakuta Season 2 does not have a release date. It is confirmed, it is in production at Bones Film, and there is already a trailer cut from finished Season 2 footage. What there is not, anywhere on the official site, is a broadcast date, a season, or even a year. Anyone quoting one is guessing. Here is everything that has genuinely been announced, and the one page on the official site that proves no slot exists yet.
Gachiakuta Season 2 release date
Unannounced. The official site, gachiakuta-anime.com, lists Season 2 among the projects that have been greenlit, alongside a stage play and a game. It gives no date, no broadcast season and no station. The most recent Season 2 update, from 29 July 2026, ends with the line 続報をお楽しみに, which translates as “look forward to further news”. That is production-speak for “we are not telling you yet”.

What was actually announced, and when
Two things, both official.
Season 2 is in production. The official site states it plainly, in the same breath as the stage adaptation and the game. There is no ambiguity about whether it is happening.
A First Look PV exists, dated 29 July 2026. The announcement describes it as several cuts of actual Season 2 footage, not recycled Season 1 material, and says it premiered in front of audiences at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles and at the 25th Comic Exhibition in Taipei earlier that month. That matters more than it sounds. Finished footage shown publicly means the production is past the planning stage, which is the usual reason a studio stays quiet.
Everything posted since then has been merchandise and events. A collaboration T-shirt on 13 October, a festival stage appearance announced on 16 September, a tattoo design change on upcoming products on 8 September. No scheduling news at all.
The official schedule page still lists Season 1 only
This is the part most articles skip. The official site has a broadcast page, and it is still filled with Season 1: 6 July 2025 on the CBC and TBS network of 28 stations, in the Agaru Anime block on Sundays at 23:30 JST, with AT-X from 10 July, BS Nittele from 13 July, domestic streaming running 24 hours ahead from 7 July and Prime Video from 8 July.
There is no Season 2 row on that page. A Japanese broadcaster slot is locked in months ahead of transmission and the official site is where it appears first. Until something lands there, any date you read is somebody’s guess dressed up as news.

Season 1, and why a second season was never really in doubt
Gachiakuta ran from 6 July to 21 December 2025, 24 episodes across two consecutive cours, animated by Bones Film with production supervision from Bones. It holds a score of 82 on AniList with more than 265,000 users tracking it, which puts it in the top tier of 2025 debuts.
Then came the awards. At the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 it won three categories: Best New Series, Best Character Design and Best Background Art. It took two Japan Expo Daruma Awards 2026. Kei Urana’s manga won the shounen category at the 50th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2026 and is still running in Weekly Shounen Magazine, now 19 volumes deep.
A show that sweeps a season’s new-series awards and still has a dozen volumes of unadapted source material was always getting a second season. The only open question was ever the date.
Staff and cast
From the official English staff page. Fumihiko Suganuma directs, Hiroshi Seko handles series composition, Satoshi Ishino is character designer and chief animation director, and Taku Iwasaki writes the music. Eiji Yamamori designed the Trash Beasts, Yusa Ito at Kusanagi is art director, and Fumiyuki Goh is sound director. Animation production is Bones Film, under Bones.
The main cast is Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo, Katsuyuki Konishi as Enjin, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka, Yumiri Hanamori as Riyo, Mitsuki Saiga as Tamsy and Toshiyuki Morikawa as Regto.

No Season 2 staff changes have been announced, which is normal this early. Treat the Season 1 credits as the working assumption, not as confirmation.
Where to watch Season 1 first
Crunchyroll carries the full 24 episodes internationally. In Japan the series went out across the streaming services listed on the official broadcast page, with Prime Video among them. If you are coming to Gachiakuta because of the awards, Season 1 is self-contained enough to be worth starting now rather than waiting.
