What is confirmed
| Next anime | Chainsaw Man: Shikaku-hen, the Assassin arc |
| Release date | Not announced |
| Studio | MAPPA |
| Season 1 | 12 episodes, from 12 October 2022 |
| Film | Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc, September 2025 |
Where the story stands
Season 1 covered the opening stretch of the manga and stopped before the Reze arc, which the 2025 film then adapted. The Assassin arc follows on from that film, which is why the next anime is named after the arc rather than numbered as a second season. If you watched season 1 and skipped the film, the film is your missing link.
Why there is no date yet
MAPPA has not published one. The studio’s schedule is heavily committed and the Reze film is recent, so silence at this stage is ordinary rather than a warning sign.
