Search for the Omniscient Reader anime and almost every result gives you the same year. The people actually making it have never given a year at all. Both of those things are true at once, and the gap between them is worth understanding before you put a date in your calendar.
What the official site actually says
The anime has an official site at zendokushi-anime.com. It is a teaser page, and its headline is the single line TV animation project launched. That is the whole announcement. The page carries the original web novel credit, the manga credits, the LINE Manga serialisation and the production copyright. It carries no premiere date, no broadcast season, no episode count, no cast and no staff.
In Japanese announcement language that phrase sits at the very beginning of a production, well before a broadcast window is set. It is the stage where a project has been greenlit and announced, not the stage where a schedule exists.
Where the 2027 figure actually came from
This is the part most coverage skips. The 2027 that circulates everywhere does not come from the anime side at all. It traces back to financial documents published by Com2uS, a Korean games company, which referred to a television anime adaptation scheduled for 2027.
A line in a games company filing is not an announcement by the people producing the anime. It is a useful signal about what partners expect, and it is the reason the year keeps getting repeated, but neither Aniplex nor Crunchyroll has stated it. 2027 is already a crowded year in announcements, with One Piece returning in 2027 as well. AniList reflects the same uncertainty: it carries a bare year with no month and no day attached, which is how a window is recorded rather than a date.
So if you have seen 2027 stated flatly as the release date, that is a secondhand figure being reported as a first party one.
Why no studio can honestly be named yet
The adaptation was announced in July 2024, at the Crunchyroll industry panel during Anime Expo, as a television series produced by Crunchyroll and Aniplex. Producing and animating are different jobs. Those two companies are financing and distributing it. Neither of them draws it.
No animation studio has been announced, and none is listed as the main studio on any database entry for the series. Studio names do circulate in fan discussion, sometimes confidently, but nobody involved in the production has confirmed any of them. This is a common pattern right now. The next Chainsaw Man anime does have a studio attached and still has no announced format. Until a studio is named by the production itself, any article telling you who is animating this is guessing.
What the source material tells you
Omniscient Reader began as a Korean web novel by singNsong. The manga adaptation is drawn by Sleepy C of 3B2S with script by UMI of REDICE STUDIO, and it is still running on LINE Manga with new chapters on Sundays. The story follows Kim Dokja, an ordinary office worker and the only reader who finished an obscure web novel, who finds himself living inside its apocalypse and already knowing how it ends.
The closest recent comparison is Solo Leveling, which took the same route from Korean web novel to manga to anime. The source being long and still running matters for a practical reason. There is a great deal of material available to adapt, which removes one common cause of delay, but it also means the production has real decisions to make about where a first season would stop, and those decisions tend to be made before a date is announced.

The teaser released with the announcement is the only moving footage that exists so far. It is a title and concept piece rather than animation from the series.

The next real milestone is a staff and studio announcement, which normally comes with a second visual and sometimes a teaser trailer using actual footage. That is the point at which a broadcast window usually becomes official. A date announced before a studio is named would be unusual.
