Aoashi Season 2 release date
The second season starts in Japan on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 11:00 pm on NHK’s late-night anime block, and it runs for 24 episodes, which means two continuous cours through March 2027. That mirrors Season 1 exactly: 24 episodes from April to September 2022, also on NHK. It puts Aoashi in the same October weekend as Tokyo Revengers Season 4, Blue Box Season 2 and Ranma ½ Season 3.
International streaming has not been confirmed for Season 2 yet. Season 1 streamed on Crunchyroll worldwide, which makes it the obvious candidate; we will update this page as soon as a platform is announced.

Where Season 2 picks up
Season 1 ended with Ashito finally understanding what coach Fukuda saw in him: not a striker, but a full-back with the rarest thing in football, the ability to see the whole pitch at once. He earned his place in the B team, and the final episodes set up the next mountain, promotion to the A team and the Premier League youth division against academies with far deeper squads.
Season 2 covers that climb. The manga’s middle stretch is the part fans have been waiting for: Ashito’s development as a defender under real pressure, the arrival of stronger rivals inside Esperion itself, Hana and Anri’s roles growing beyond the sidelines, and the matches that turn the series from a promising sports manga into one of the most respected of the decade. Aoashi ran in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits from January 2015 until June 23, 2025, when Yugo Kobayashi ended it after more than a decade. That matters for the anime in two ways: Season 2 can be planned against a known ending, and there is far more material left than one season can cover. Season 1 adapted roughly the first ten volumes; the full series runs well past thirty, so even a 24-episode Season 2 will leave room for more. The manga is available in English digitally from Shogakukan’s own platforms and through Kodansha’s partner apps, and it holds an 86 average on AniList, one of the highest of any sports manga on the site.
