The salaryman and his talking Java sparrow are back. Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 opens the second week of October with a one-hour premiere special, a new director at SILVER LINK., an opening from MADKID and the entire voice cast from 2024 returning, from Tomokazu Sugita’s deadpan Sasaki to Aoi Yuki’s imperious little sage. Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 release date
Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, 7 October 2026 with a one-hour first episode. AT-X airs it first at 22:00 JST, TOKYO MX follows at 23:00, and BS NTV carries it the next evening, Thursday 8 October, at 23:00. From episode 2 the show settles into a normal 30-minute slot at the same times (AT-X 22:00 and TOKYO MX 23:00 on Wednesdays, BS NTV 23:00 on Thursdays), with AT-X repeats on Fridays at 10:00 and Tuesdays at 16:00.
It makes 7 October one of the busiest nights of the season: The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2 and Magic Knight Rayearth premiere the same evening, with A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special Season 2 arriving in the small hours after midnight.

What the story is about
Sasaki is a worn-down office worker in his late thirties who buys a Java sparrow on a whim and discovers it is Piercarlo, a legendary sage reincarnated from another world. “Peeps” gives him two things: the ability to hop between modern Tokyo and a sword-and-sorcery kingdom, and magic of his own. Sasaki uses the first to run a quietly lucrative trade in Japanese goods and the second to survive when, on his way home from work, he stumbles into a fight between psychics and gets mistaken for one himself.
Season 1 followed that mistake all the way to a new job: Sasaki is recruited by the Cabinet Office’s Paranormal Phenomena Countermeasures Bureau under the watchful Akutsu, partnered with the hot-headed psychic Hoshizaki, and drawn into a third front when his teenage neighbour turns out to be tangled up with a death-game between angels and demons. Over in the other world he builds his position with Viscount Müller and Prince Adonis while hiding just how far Peeps’ power reaches. The season ended with all three of his lives, salaryman, bureau agent and otherworld merchant, colliding.
Season 2 picks up from there. The official site’s staff list adds Himegami-kun and Eriel to the cast, which suggests the angel-and-demon proxy war around the neighbour and Abaddon moves to the centre of the season, but KADOKAWA has not said which novel volumes the anime covers or how many episodes it runs. Treat any detailed arc breakdown online as speculation for now.
Where the light novels stand
Buncololi’s Sasaki and Peeps began as a web novel and has been published by KADOKAWA with Kantoku’s illustrations since January 2021; the series is still ongoing. A manga adaptation launched the same month and is also continuing. Yen Press publishes both the novels and the manga in English. The first season covered the opening volumes, so the sequel has a deep backlog to draw from.

Where to watch Sasaki and Peeps Season 2
In Japan the season airs on AT-X, TOKYO MX and BS NTV. Domestic streaming details for season 2 have not been posted yet; season 1 streamed first on Prime Video in Japan before rolling out to d Anime Store, ABEMA, U-NEXT and the rest. Internationally, season 1 was a Crunchyroll simulcast and is also available on Netflix in some regions. Neither service has formally announced season 2 at the time of writing; Crunchyroll is the obvious candidate given the first season, and we will update this page when a platform confirms.
Why this sequel matters
Sasaki and Peeps was one of the odder success stories of winter 2024: a show that looked like a gentle slow-life comedy about a middle-aged man and his bird, and turned out to be juggling an isekai trade plot, a government psychic bureau and a magical-girl death game at once. Season 1 was praised for how smoothly it kept those plates spinning and for Sugita’s performance, and criticised mainly for ending just as the three threads began to knot together. A second season with a fresh director and the source’s most eventful material ahead is the payoff that first run was building toward.
