Solo Leveling Season 2 aired in early 2025, not 2026. It ran 13 episodes from 5 January to 30 March 2025 under the title Arise from the Shadow, at A-1 Pictures. Season 3 is confirmed and in production, with a window of 2027 to 2028 and no date announced.
This page was rewritten on 2 October 2026 after a fact check. An earlier version said Season 2 “landed in January 2026”, a year out, and treated it as part of that season’s lineup. The corrected record is below.
Season 2, the actual record
| Full title | Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow |
| Premiere | 5 January 2025 |
| Finale | 30 March 2025 |
| Episodes | 13 |
| Studio | A-1 Pictures |
| Status | Complete |
If you arrived here expecting a 2026 season, there was not one. The anime has been off air since March 2025.
Season 3: what is actually confirmed
D&C Media, which owns the source material, confirmed in its quarterly results on 9 June 2026 that a third season is in production, with an expected release somewhere between 2027 and 2028.
That is the whole of it. Specifically not announced:
- A premiere date, or even a season within those years.
- The studio. A-1 Pictures made both previous seasons and is the obvious expectation, but no formal announcement names them for Season 3.
- Episode count, staff, or which platform carries it.
A two year window from a financial disclosure is a long way from a release date, and anyone quoting you a month is making it up.
There is also a film in the works
A separate project, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, is listed as in production with A-1 Pictures attached and no release date. It is tracked as a film rather than a season, so it does not replace Season 3 and it is not the same thing.
Worth not confusing with Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, which came out on 29 November 2024. That one was a recap of Season 1 plus the first two episodes of Season 2, shown in cinemas ahead of the season. It is a catch up piece, not new story.
The full watch order
- Solo Leveling, Season 1, 12 episodes, 7 January to 31 March 2024.
- Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, November 2024, optional, a recap plus an early look at Season 2’s opening episodes.
- Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow, 13 episodes, January to March 2025.
- Season 3, 2027 to 2028.
Twenty five episodes across the two seasons, so a complete catch up is a weekend rather than a project. Crunchyroll carries the series in most territories, subtitled and dubbed.
Why the wait is this long
Season 1 to Season 2 was about nine months, which set an expectation this franchise has not repeated. Season 2 finished in March 2025 and the earliest end of the Season 3 window is 2027, so the gap is at least two years and possibly three.
No reason has been given publicly. What can be said is that the confirmation came through a parent company’s financial reporting rather than a production announcement with a visual and a date, and those two things usually sit a long way apart in time.
What was corrected on this page
- It said “the Solo Leveling Season 2 release date landed in January 2026”. Season 2 aired January to March 2025, a year earlier.
- It presented Season 2 as part of a 2026 winter lineup and as a current event. The anime has been off air since March 2025.
- The images were of the wrong thing, including a key visual captioned as being from the ReAwakening film.
- Speculation about Season 3 has been replaced with the one thing actually on record, the 2027 to 2028 window from D&C Media’s own results.
