Correction, 23 October 2026. An earlier version of this page said a Kakegurui Season 3 release date for 2026 had been officially confirmed, and set out an episode guide and a returning cast. None of that was announced. The page has been rewritten to say only what is on the record.
Kakegurui Season 3 has not been announced. MAPPA has not confirmed it, Netflix has not confirmed it, and there is no date, no staff list and no key visual. There is no AniList entry for a third season either.
Where the anime actually stands
| Season 3 | Not announced |
| Release date | None exists |
| Season 1 | 12 episodes, from 1 July 2017, MAPPA |
| Season 2, Kakegurui xx | 12 episodes, from 9 January 2019, MAPPA |
| Kakegurui Twin | 6 episodes, 4 August 2022, a Netflix spin off following Mary Saotome |
| Manga | Still running, 22 volumes as of September 2026 |
So the television anime has been quiet since January 2019, and the most recent animation of any kind was the Twin spin off in 2022.
Why the rumours keep coming back
Two things feed them. The first is that the manga has kept going, so there is plenty of unadapted material, which people read as a reason a season must be coming. The second is that Netflix and MAPPA signed a partnership in January 2026 covering future MAPPA titles. Nothing in that announcement named Kakegurui, but posts connected the two anyway.
Add a few confident social media claims that production has been under way “for a long time”, with no source attached, and you get pages like the one this used to be.
What a real announcement looks like
- A primary source. MAPPA, Netflix or the official Kakegurui account, with a date on it.
- A key visual. Sequels are announced with art, nearly always.
- Entries on AniList and Anime News Network within hours. Neither exists for a third season.
Until the first of those appears, any date you read for Kakegurui Season 3 is somebody’s estimate presented as news.

Our weekly schedule tracks every series currently airing, and the October 2026 premieres guide covers what started this month.
Checked against AniList, Anime News Network and MAPPA and Netflix announcements on 23 October 2026. This page states only what has been announced, and will be updated when that changes.
Other anime people are told are confirmed, and are not: Overlord Season 5, Vinland Saga Season 3, Attack on Titan in 2026, a Naruto Shippuden remaster, a Tokyo Ghoul reboot, an Evangelion remaster, a Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood remaster, Spy x Family Season 3 and Re:Zero Season 4. Each of those pages says what has actually been announced, and nothing more.
