Updated 24 October 2026. This page has been rewritten around what is on the record. The previous version was not wrong, but it predated three things that changed the picture: the D&C Media investor report, Crunchyroll’s comments, and the film announced at Anime Expo in July.
Solo Leveling Season 3 is coming, but it has no release date, no trailer and no formal announcement from the anime’s own channels. What exists instead is a paper trail, and it is worth reading carefully, because the thing announced in July was not a season.

What is actually on the record
| Season 3 formally announced | No, not by the anime’s official channels |
| Release date | None |
| Investor signal | D&C Media’s investment report of 9 June 2026 lists Season 3, projecting a 2027 to 2028 release |
| Crunchyroll | Its president said the creators are working on the next instalment, without a formal announcement |
| Announced in July 2026 | A film, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, not Season 3 |
| Season 2 | 13 episodes, from 5 January 2025, A-1 Pictures |
| Season 1 | 12 episodes, from 7 January 2024, A-1 Pictures |
The film is the part most coverage gets wrong
At Anime Expo on 3 July 2026 the project revealed was Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, a new anime film. Some outlets briefly labelled it Season 3, which is where a lot of the confusion comes from. AniList lists it as a film and it is still unreleased, with no date.
So if you have seen a headline saying Solo Leveling’s next thing was announced in July, that is true, and it was not the season.

How strong is the investor-report signal?
Stronger than a rumour, weaker than an announcement. A publisher listing a title in an investment report is a real document with real consequences if it misleads shareholders, which is why it carries weight. But a projection in a slide is not a production schedule, the 2027 to 2028 range is wide, and D&C Media does not control the anime’s release calendar.
Treat it as evidence that a third season is intended. Do not treat it as a date.
What would count as the real announcement
- A statement from the official Solo Leveling anime accounts, Aniplex or Crunchyroll, with a key visual.
- An AniList and Anime News Network entry for the season, which appear within hours of a genuine reveal. Neither exists.
- Staff names. A-1 Pictures returning is widely expected and has not been stated for Season 3.
