There is no announced Tokyo Ghoul reboot. As of 29 September 2026 no reboot, remake or new Tokyo Ghoul anime appears in AniList’s database, and no production has announced one. The previous version of this page stated that a 2026 reboot had been confirmed. That was not true, and the page has been corrected.

What actually exists
| Tokyo Ghoul | 2014, 12 episodes |
| Tokyo Ghoul √A | 2015, 12 episodes |
| Tokyo Ghoul:re | 2018, two cours |
| Most recent release | An “unravel” tenth anniversary music video, 2025 |
| Reboot | Not announced |
Why people expect one
The anime diverged heavily from Sui Ishida’s manga, particularly across √A and :re, and the wish for a faithful retelling has been a constant fan topic for years. That demand is genuine. It is also why unconfirmed reboot stories spread so easily: people want it to be true, so posts claiming it get shared without anyone checking a database.
What would count as confirmation
An announcement from the publisher or a studio, a dated entry in the anime databases, or a production committee credit. None of those exist today. A trending post, a fan trailer or a YouTube thumbnail is not an announcement.
If you want to revisit the story
The manga is complete and tells the full story in the intended order. The first anime season is worth watching, but readers generally recommend switching to the manga from the √A point onwards.
